In this video Jafffa Adventures details how to replace the big end bearing shells in a Toyota Landcruiser 1HD-T diesel motor. These big end bearings have a history of premature failure and in this video Matt, a qualified engine reconditioner, determines if this is the case with this particular Landcruiser 80 Series. This Landcruiser 80 Series has been regularly serviced and has 80,000km on the motor since a complete rebuild.
In addition to the big end bearings, we also replace the timing belt and tensioner, the harmonic balancer, and the remainder of the drive belts.
Of course while doing the work, we also manage to have a lot of fun and laughs.
