This film shows the procedure for correctly adjusting the spray nozzles.
The windshield washer system of the GLK is equipped with three newly designed spray nozzles.
The C-Class is also equipped with the same washer nozzles as of August 2008
They are adjusted differently to the predecessor models of the C-Class.
Before adjusting the nozzles, the spray direction must be checked.
Close the engine hood so that the spray nozzles operate.
Also close the doors and windows.
Switch on the ignition.
The spray nozzles are obviously incorrectly adjusted here and must be corrected.
Too much fluid is missing the intended area of the windshield.
If the nozzles are clogged, clean them from the outside using a needle and compressed air.
Cover the engine hood to protect it from scratches.
Note: Observe the safety instructions!
Measure out the spray area of the nozzles on the windshield.
Use adhesive dots to mark it out.
This makes the correct positions easier to see.
Use the edge of the water deflector on the left and right for orientation.
The windshield frame can be used for orientation at the top and bottom.
There are two adjustment dimensions for each of the three spray nozzles.
The spray jet should hit the windshield within these areas.
The first adjustment dimension is 155 x 330 mm.
The second adjustment dimension is 640 x 370 mm.
The third adjustment dimension is 815 x 380 mm.
The fourth adjustment dimension is 340 x 340 mm.
The fifth adjustment dimension is 550 x 310 mm.
The sixth adjustment dimension is 100 x 385 mm.
The dimensions can be found in the corresponding WIS document.
The water spray should hit the windshield in the marked area.
That is not the case here. The nozzles must be adjusted.
Use the adjustment tool shown for this purpose.
The nozzles can be moved to the left, right, up and down.
Align the nozzles until they are adjusted perfectly.
Note: Check the washer fluid reservoir and refill it if necessary.
The adjustment procedure has been completed successfully.
