Located in the beautiful Valhalla Provincial Park, Gwillim Lakes did not disappoint. Perhaps, one of the most scenic hiking trails from start to finish. The jagged peaks of the Valhalla mountain range is a beauty to behold. My friends and I did this hike in mid-September. We spent two nights at Drinnon Lake Campground and did a day hike to Gwillim Lakes. We did not make a reservation. It was FCFS during the time we were there. The FSR for the most part was well graded. However, the last 2.4 km was pretty tragic, very rough and narrow (you'll see it in the video). A high clearance vehicle is suggested. We left the trailhead quite late so we ended up hiking to camp in the dark . The next day, we lucked out on the weather for our day hike. It wasn't sunny but we did not get rained on despite the forecast. The trail was clear and easy to follow. We didn't see any bears, despite other hikers saying there's been some sightings. This hike is a must IMO. You have to at least go do it once. If you have any questions regarding the hike, feel free to ask. I'll try my best to help. :)
