Going back to a time only one decade after the death of Christ, in 43 AD the Roman legions, under the rule of the wise Emperor Claudius, embarked on a campaign to conquer the island of Britain, 97 years after the legendary Julius Caesar had first set foot on the beaches of what is now southern England, eliciting the response of the tribal kings to ward off the invasion, which ultimately led to one of the most pivotal battles in British history, alongside the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
