How-to video describing and demonstrating the basic concept of working amateur radio satellite FO-29 semi-duplex using a single Yaesu FT-817 2m and 70cm all mode transceiver. FO-29 is available for transponder use to licensed amateur radio operators. This semi-duplex concept can be applied to other single VFO radios with split capability.
Many people have asked what I am using for antennas. In this demo, I am using a set of yagi antennas that are automatically tracking the satellite. I have successfully used both the Arrow II and Elk-style antennas.
