I went to Mammoth Mountain and tried "Mammoth Little Lakes Valley Trail". It is moderate trail and you can enjoy beautiful lakes while going up to the peak. In the peak, you will find gem lakes which is amazing.

This hiking trail is moderate level and great for the family hiking. Especially, kids love it as they can see many lakes while hiking. I think it is the one of the most popular trails in the Mammoth mountain.
