The haulage / logistics industry is suffering from a huge driver crisis, currently estimated to be between 45,000 – 60,000 drivers. The impact on this is obviously huge for haulage operators, but even greater for the UK economy which will be affected most.
Mindful of this the RHA (Road Haulage Association) and Dunlop are joining forces to try and:
· Raise awareness of the issue
· Changing perceptions of the industry in order to attract drivers
· Recruit new drivers
Tom Ingram has been taking lessons to drive a truck in order to have an occupation outside the BTCC season, and he is showcasing his superb efforts by driving the Dunlop truck at Silverstone this weekend
