The European Commission has announced that all 28 EU states have given the go-ahead to the swift ratification of the Paris Agreement to curb greenhouse gas emissions. It said that once the European Parliament approves the collective agreement, the EU would send its ratification instrument to the UN. The climate deal will take effect when 55 countries, covering at least 55 percent of the emissions, ratify the accord.
