These Crispy Fried Shallots can add crispy sweetness to anything. Rice, noodles, fried chicken, soup, and more!
▶ Ingredients :
● 1kg, Shallots
● Vegetable Oil, for frying.
▶ Method :
1. Cut the root end off of the shallot and peel the papery skin away.
2. Slice shallots crosswise evenly to about 2 cm thickness.
3. Tear them apart, then dry the shallot in the sun to reduce some water for at least 1 hour.
4. Heat the cooking oil in a large pan. Insert the chopstick in the oil, if it starts bubbling all.
around the chopstick then the oil is ready for frying.
5. Fry the shallots, stirring them frequently to avoid hot spots.
6. Keep an eye out for when the shallot starts light brown, 4-5 mins.
7. Scoop them out with a wire skimmer and drain them on a paper towel.
8. You want the shallots to be golden brown, but slightly lighter
than the final result should be.
9. Allow to cool before eating and put in a jar in a temperature place, it can keep longer.
