Ashley Alder, chief executive officer of Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission, explains why the regulator and the stock exchange have decided to explore plans to turn the city into a regional hub for carbon emissions trading. Alder, who is the chairman of the International Organization of Securities Commissions, also talks about the debt woes among China's real estate developers, and the rules the SFC applies to companies that plan stock listings in Hong Kong.
