It really has been the year of the combine for Case IH. At Commodity Classic in March, the Racine, Wisconsin-based manufacturer unveiled its new 775 horsepower AF11 combine. And this week at the Farm Progress Show at Boone, Iowa, the CNH Industrial farm equipment maker rolled out two new AF Series combines — the AF9 and AF10.
In this report from the show, Leo Bose, harvesting segment lead at Case IH, shares how the combines have been redesigned from the ground up to maximize capacity and crop flow with efficient horsepower, while also simplifying maintenance and building in connectivity.
“We know the harvesting challenges farmers face each year and know how critical it is to make each day as productive as the next. The AF9 and AF10 live up to the challenge,” says Bose.
The single-rotor AF9 and AF10 combines, along with the AF11, complete the new AF series. Overall, Case IH now boosts a line-up of eight combines ranging from Class 6 to Class 10+. Bose notes that the AF9’s 634 horsepower and the AF10’s 775 horsepower provides the power to maximize crop flow while increasing speeds and making harvest less taxing for the machines. He adds that both combines utilize Axial-Flow single-rotor technology, featuring a longer rotor, to deliver increased throughput.
In the video, Bose discusses how engineers focused on three core principles — capacity, technology and run time — when building the machines. He also looks inside the cab at the full suite of precision technology available, including dual Pro 1200 displays, Harvest Command combine automation and RowGuide Pro technologies.
