Bek Air Flight 2100 was a domestic passenger flight from Almaty to Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, using a Fokker 100 aircraft that crashed on 27 December 2019 while taking off from Almaty International Airport.[1][2] Initial reports said that fourteen people had died and 66 others were critically injured, with one of the initial victims dying later in hospital, bringing the total number of deaths to fifteen. However, the death toll was later revised down to 12, without explanation.[3] The local government has initiated an investigation and more reports are pending.[4] The exact number of people on board the plane before the incident was not immediately determined.[5]
