Incessant rains have continued to ravage in the State of Kerala. Kasargod, Wayanad, Idukki, and Kottayam have been the worst affected districts. The landslides have destructed in four settlements resulting in the lives of many citizens. 43 lives have been lost so far in the Idukki landslide. IMD has issued heavy rain alert has for the next three days in several parts of the state.
NDRF teams are being deployed to carry the rescue operations. Flood gates of various dams have been opened up. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has announced a compensation of ₹ five lakh each to the kin of the deceased.
