Ensemble Reza's Orbits around the Sun was a fantastic example of the power community projects can have, to bring people of all ages and backgrounds together to celebrate collective music making!
In a series of workshops led by our professional musicians, students from Seymour Primary School worked with community choir, the Silver Birch Singers to create words for our Orbits around the Sun theme. These words were then turned into songs by students at St Wilfrid's Catholic School. Ensemble Reza's Anna Cooper orchestrated these songs for our community orchestra and a mass choir from Seymour Primary and St Wilfrid's Schools and community choir The Silver Birch Singers.
Over 150 musicians (including 7 professional Ensemble Reza musicians) came together to perform this beautiful piece led by workshop leader Paul Griffiths in a world premiere at the Amphitheatre at the Hawth Theatre, Crawley to an enthusiastic audience in the glorious sunshine.
We are very grateful to our supporters including: The Edith Payne Trust, The Hawth Theatre, The Orchards Shopping Centre, The Garfield Weston Foundation, Worth School and Savills.
