Elevate Water-based Bonding Adhesive WBA-2021 is a high-quality roofing adhesive designed for
bonding RubberCover EPDM to timber surfaces only. Safe and easy to apply for trade and DIY
roofing projects.
Preparation
Bonding surfaces must be clean, dry, smooth and free of sharp edges, loose and foreign materials, oil, grease and any other contaminants.
Application
Stir adhesive thoroughly before and during use. Use only when temperatures will not fall below freezing at any time 24 hours after mating of EPDM. Apply WBA-2021 over plywood or OSB
substrates with a solvent resistant roller, taking care to completely cover the substrate evenly
to avoid globs and puddles of adhesive.

The EPDM may be wet mated to the coated plywood or OSB by rolling the membrane in place over the substrate. To ensure proper adhesion, compress the bonded portion of the sheet to the substrate with a stiff broom or heavy roller, such as a linoleum roller.
Coverage (wet applied to timber deck)
2.5L Tub - 8 - 10m2 approx.
5L Tub - 18 - 20m2 approx.
10L Tub - 38 - 40m2 approx.
Storage
Store in original containers at temperatures between 15 - 25 degrees. Keep from freezing.
Shelf life - 18 months approx. when stored in the recommended conditions
Precautions
May cause mild transient eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. In case of
contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If consumed, seek
immediate medical attention. Keep container closed when not in use. Keep out of reach of
children.
A Quick FAQ
PermaRoof customers often ask what the difference is between a bonding adhesive and water-based deck adhesive. Bonding adhesive is a much stronger adhesive which is used for bonding the rubber roofing membrane to most materials in addition to wood. Bonding adhesive is used around the edges of the EPDM, on any up-stand walls and bonding to brickwork where an effective and quick hold is required to keep the EPDM in place. Bonding adhesive is applied to both the EPDM and the surface.
Water-based deck adhesive is more suited to wood and ply adhesion on the main area of the deck.
Water-based deck adhesive is often used in DIY flat roofing because it makes the EPDM membrane easier to lay, you can lay the EPDM straight onto it while it is still wet and it is also much easier to correct mistakes shortly after the EPDM has been laid due to it taking slightly longer than bonding adhesives to dry and cure.
