Firstly, what are paint spits and why does an airless spray gun spit?.

When using an airless spray gun extension to extend your reach.. For example, spraying ceilings with an airless sprayer.. There’s potential you could get heavy spots due to paint spits. This is because pressure is lower in the extension Vs the working pressure at the gun.. the lower pressure material cannot be properly atomised, resulting in the spit..

The Graco CleanShot valve stops the flow of material in the extension being expelled out the tip, as soon as the pressure drops.
