Ang Lee just won Best Director at the 85th Academy Awards for his extraordinary work on 'Life of Pi'. Late in 2012 he came to Australia and was a guest of Popcorn Taxi where he talked about the film and the personal impact of making the film.
"Life of Pi' also won for best cinematography by Claudio Miranda, Music by Mychael Danna and visual effects by the team at Rhythm and Hues, lead by Bill Westenhofer, Guillaume Rocheron, Erik-Jan De Boer and Donald R. Elliott.
In these edited highlights of the evening, you'll see Ang Lee talk about what went through his mind when bringing the 'unfilmable' Pulitzer Prize-winning book, his career, and the extraordinary technical hurdles that he overcome to create 'Life of Pi', with Popcorn Taxi's Chris Murray.
