The coming of age day is a Japanese holiday held to celebrate adulthood. The young women often wear a furisode, a colorful style of kimono with long sleeves that hang down, and zōri sandals.

The video shows the walk from Ueno Station to Asakua, past the Honzan Higashi Honganji, a large concrete Buddhist temple with a gilded interior.
