Substrate cleaning technique using a turkey baster and some hose. I recently learnt this technique from a website run by Dennis Wong - [ Ссылка ] - after trying this out on our own aquascapes it is now regular practise during maintenance in our aquascaping showroom. Removal of organic waste / detritus reduces the risk of algae in a planted aquarium. This can easily be incorporated into part of your regular water change routine. This technique can also be used to clean open cosmetic sands, clean waste trapped in carpeting plants, remove trapped debris within dense plant mass, remove detritus collected at the substrate level and organic waste trapped amongst hardscape.
