There are fundamentally two types on camera systems. 1) Analog connected Cameras 2) IP Cameras that are digital (like the camera in a smartphone). Although there are improvements in analog transmission to modern standards like AHD (Analog High Definition), HD TVI, HD CVI, analog cameras need a physically wired connection. There are at least 3 advantages of digital IP cameras for RV’s: 1)the image can be easily broadcast over a wifi network. 2) The camera can be easily accessible from w remote location on the internet and viewable on a smartphone 3) Integrating the new AI based “Birds-eye” camera system is easy to do. The #Garmin head unit that is the basis of the Safiery Integrated Display supports digital IP cameras. In this video, we simulate the Safiery Integrated Display on a suction cup in the tow vehicle with the IP cameras in the rear of the van. This is a 10inch display. Before year’s end we are adding new “birds-eye” technology that will let the driver see 360 degrees around the caravan. Here is how this works: The IP cameras are wired with ethernet cable to the head unit in the caravan. The Tablet you see in the video has a high range WiFi connection to the head unit. Bingo, place in the vehicle and you get all the benefits of the digital camera system.
