The term "from farm to table" started with food, and essentially implies fresh food from local farms, and produce that is grown in a sustainable way.
The term has made its way into the floral field as well, implying flowers that are local, seasonally grown and in a ecologically positive manner.
It has also given rise to a certain kind of "look" or "style" of floral art, that feel very natural and organic.
In this how to do it video, we show how to create floral art with this kind of look. The design presented here could actually be considered multiple arrangements. For example we could use the foliage, sunflowers and hydrangea and stop. We could add the dahlias and stop. Or we could add the remaining flowers... In other words there are a few natural places where this demonstration could be concluded and all of these options would look great
Keep in mind. We are showing how to do a style.--a look--creating a certain kind of visual feeling with floral media. It is an interpretation. While the ideal of farm to table in the strictest sense of the term is a lovely one, it is not always viable when creating floral art in certain geographic regions, and/or depending upon the time of the year. Still we love this kind of style and visual effect, and thought you might enjoy this presentation as well.
