On Tuesday 20th September 2022 we held our inaugural Charity Golf Day at Feldon Valley Golf Club, Brailes, Oxfordshire.
8 teams took part in the day and made the most of some perfectly-timed warm September weather. The day kicked-off with some of the best bacon rolls we've tasted all year, followed by a shotgun start at 1pm for 18 holes of golf. Filled with several chances to win prizes for longest drives, nearest to the pin and even a 'shortest first drive' prize for those not having the best day out on course!
The aim of the day, in addition to bringing some special guests together and enjoying some excellent company, was to raise funds for our local Katharine House Hospice, who are based in Adderbury just outside of Banbury.
Katharine House provides specialist palliative care for adults with life-limiting conditions across North Oxfordshire and South Northamptonshire.
Hospice care is for anyone over the age of 18 years who has an advanced life-limiting illness. At Katharine House, the care is delivered by a multi-professional team who have specialised in this field and take a holistic approach, considering physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs.
Each year they have to raise 50% of all the clinical staff costs, and desperately rely on the donations and the support of the community to fund all the other things that allow them to make every moment matter for their patients, which they do so well.
We are proud to have raised them £5,827 from the day and will continue to do what we can to support them, as they've helped a number of our team members' family and friends over recent years. Thank you to all who took part in the day and helped us raise this valuable contribution for them.
