The 14th Amendment is crystal clear:
If you swore an Oath to uphold the Constitution, but then commit Insurrection against the United States, you are INELIGIBLE to hold any office.

As the song clearly says, "You need not know anything else." But for anyone who would like the simple, hard facts in a nutshell...
Scotus took on this question of disqualification, and on March 4, 2024, they ruled unanimously 9-to-0 that states do not have authority to make a determination to remove an insurrectionist from the ballot in a federal election. If states did, it would result in a "patchwork" of 50 different decisions. In this very same US Supreme Court ruling, they UPHELD the authority of the US Congress to make this determination. One decision, which applies across the entire nation.

The US Congress themselves have taken on this very specific issue: Did Donald Trump commit Insurrection? They voted on this in Jan-Feb of 2021. BOTH houses of Congress determined, by a simple majority threshold, that, YES, Donald Trump is GUILTY of Insurrection. The exact vote outcome was:

- House: 292-to-197 Donald Trump committed Insurrection
- Senate: 57-to-43 Donald Trump is *GUILTY* of Insurrection

While the threshold per Impeachment is 2/3rds, the threshold under the 14th Amendment is a simple majority.

Therefore,
Any and ALL votes cast by the Electoral College for Insurrectionist Trump are INVALID. Just as invalid as if a vote had been cast for, say, Barron Trump. Barron, being 18 years old, does not meet the 35 year minimum age eligibility criteria specified in the Constitution. And likewise, Donald Trump fails to meet eligibility criteria specified in the 14th Amendment.

The US Constitution is NOT optional.
On January 6th, 2025, Congress will be tasked with CERTIFICATION of the 2024 Presidential Election. It cannot count any votes for any candidates who have been DISQUALIFIED.

It is a violation of the US Constitution to assert that he won the election. He simply was never eligible. The 14th Amendment DOES clearly state how it would be possible for Trump to have his disqualification removed. Congress, who imposed the determination that Trump is an Insurrectionist, also has the power to grant him AMNESTY. Quote:

"But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each house, remove such disability."
