*HELLO EVERYOOONE!* This is going to be my last Cata video. It mostly features games from the 2024 Cata AWC tournament (EU bracket). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to record the Top 8 games, as I had to play those on my shitty laptop from some village in Eastern Germany, where I, Homerjay, and some other WoW players had an irl meetup, which we didn't want to cancel just because Blizzard decided to announce the tournament only 3 weeks in advance. Cataclysm arena itself was released less than 2 weeks before the offline bracket. This just shows the inconceivable competence of the people at Blizzard responsible for organising these events.

These circumstances did not, however, significantly diminish the wonderful experience of competing in yet another WoW tournament. I was very happy with the end result despite not having been as successful as in the last one. The combination of my not-made-for-gaming laptop, slow internet (we had to use Discord on our phones to not burden the network too much), and not playing on "home turf" is just not conducive to an impeccable tournament performance.

That being said, I absolutely don't regret choosing to spend time with my friends over doing better in a tournament with a deflated prize pool – half of what the prize pool for Wrath AWC in 2022 was. Somehow, the Microsoft acquisition did not translate into Blizzard putting in more effort and resources in their e-sports events.

Shoutout to Blackbetty and Homerjay – it was a real pleasure preparing for and competing in the tournament with you guys. Also, shoutout to all the boys: Jammin, Shady, Srenix, Preghiera, and Jkr (thanks for providing me with the nutrition during the games, Mr. Banana Dealer, much appreciated :3).
