Two former GOP presidential nominees met up on the campaign trail in the Phoenix area Thursday (November 3). Mitt Romney joined John McCain at a rally on a windswept, stormy evening - Romney urging supporters to get out the vote for the Arizona Senator. Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, was on hand to back McCain in his bid for a sixth term in the U.S. Senate. In 2008, the two faced off as rivals for the 2008 GOP nomination, which McCain won. But the two former foes are now political allies and traded compliments at the rally – McCain introducing Romney as "one of the finest men I have ever known in American politics", and Romney lauding McCain for his "proven integrity". Neither made mention of the current Republican nominee for president, Donald Trump, and his own bid for the White House.
