Canola farming in Kenya, particularly in regions with optimal temperatures between 15 to 20 degrees Celsius like Timau, Endebess, and Mau Narok, is becoming increasingly popular. Small scale farmers in Meru, Nakuru, and Narok counties have embraced canola farming, which was previously the preserve of large-scale farmers. The crop is used in conservation farming, reducing erosion, improving soil water retention, and leading to fewer weeds, pests, and diseases. It also increases yields of more than 20% for other crops. Farmers are making handsome returns from canola farming, with an average income of Kshs. 96532.61 (965.32 US$) and a profit of Kshs. 76413.04 (764.13 US$) per season.
