Today's word, "Pahlawan" or Hero, is dedicated to commemorate the National Heroes’ Day (Hari Pahlawan Nasional) in Indonesia that is celebrated every November 10.

#HariPahlawanNasional commemorates the epic Battle of Surabaya that was fought during the Indonesian National Revolution. The Battle, which took place on November 10, 1945, was one of the most heroic episodes of the Indonesian Independence War.

The #BattleofSurabaya was one of the most important battles of the war because it helped galvanize international support for the independence of Indonesia.

The Indonesian #NationalHeroesDay is commemorated every November 10 to honor and remind Indonesian youth of the spirit of those who sacrificed their lives for the love of their motherland.
