Ovation of the Seas has over 1400 balcony staterooms onboard, and it’s for good reason. As you’ll see in this video, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. that it’s the most popular room type onboard.
This particular stateroom positions the bed closest to the entry door, but in others it may be located closer to the balcony.
One of the things I loved most about the room was the amount of well-considered storage. Two large wardrobes exist on either side of the bed, plus there’s more storage in these flip up cabinets above the bed.
There is only one US style outlet on one side of the bed, and there were no USB outlets on the bedside tables.
The large flat screen is attached to the wall and can’t be moved. I found the tv system to lag behind competitors like Princess, who operate a more advanced on demand movie system.
Here you’ll find a small digital lock safe, as well as additional drawer space.
What really separates this room from other balcony staterooms though, is the addition of this living area. Though the lounge was beyond firm, just having another surface for lounging is a big plus in a standard balcony cabin. It can also be setup as a pull out bed for additional passengers.
The vanity or desk area contains two US style outlets, 2 USB A outlets and 1 European style outlet.
Rooms also come equipped with an electric kettle and range of teas.
Here you’ll find additional drawer space, plus a hairdryer.
There’s a small bar fridge for keeping things cool.
In a sign of the consideration put into the design of these cabins, the desk can be pulled out to create a dynamic space that can be used for dining or work.
Though this is just a standard balcony cabin, the balcony itself if very spacious, with two chairs and ottomans, plus a small side table.
There’s also a child lock located high up on the inside of the door frame so parents can have a little more control over balcony access.
Walking towards the entrance, you can see both the full length mirror and the door to the adjoining cabin. Though it was occupied, there was no discernible noise from the neighbouring room as a result of the door.
Though compact, the bathroom is beautifully designed and presented. The glass shower door being the highlight, and making a nice change from the shower curtains that other cruise lines persist with.
There is a combined body wash and shampoo in a dispenser in the shower, though I prefer to use my own when travelling. There were plenty of towels available and these can be replaced twice a day if needed.
Thanks for watching!
