Be sure to book a car at least a day in advance, because it is impossible to do this with local companies on the day of arrival.
To navigate public transport, install the app "Moovit: Bus & Rail Timetables" (it's available for both Android and iPhone), because Google maps often don't show local transport.
Do not come to Spain in the summer. Even in September, it is still incredibly hot there, when from 13:00 to 18:00 it is simply impossible to be outside.
There are a lot of tourists in Spain even from October to April. Do not rely on chance and try to book everything in advance, or prepare to stand in long lines (yes, even in the off-season).
Get to Malaga Cathedral
Málaga Cathedral is located in the city center on Calle Molina Lario, opposite the famous Plaza del Obispo, one of Málaga's most visited squares, visible from almost every corner of the city.
Since Málaga's historic center is almost entirely pedestrianized, if you're getting to Málaga by bus or train, you'll most likely go to the María Zambrano train station or the bus station just beyond. Various bus lines run from here to reach the city center. The nearest stop is Paseo del Parque/Plaza de la Marina.
Get to the Roman Theater of Malaga
For those driving, the theater is just off the N-340, there is a 24-hour car park at the Aparcamiento Alcabaza across the road or at Parking Central off the main road. If you are using public transport, there are several bus stops on site: Paeo del Parque, a few minutes' walk away, on bus routes 1, 4, 14, 19, 25, 36 and 37 or Paseo del Parque serving routes 21, 38, N4 .
The Alcazaba is located in the historic center of Málaga, and you can reach it on foot. There is also an elevator that takes you up Guillen Sotelo Street, in front of City Hall. Bus route 35 runs to Gibralfaro Castle from Paseo del Parque.
