This walk is a little under 3 miles with plenty of scope to extend it if you wish.
We started and finished in the Market Square in Masham which has regular markets throughout the week and is surrounded by numerous little shops cafe's and pubs so there is no shortage of places to take refreshments.
In addition the town is the home of both the Theakstons and Black Sheep breweries, so you can be sure of a great pint of real ale!
The walk exits the town past the Black sheep brewery and takes you across open fields to the Marfield Wetlands reserve, where various species of birds can be seen at different times of the year and many different wild flowers too.
The route then takes you down to the banks of the river Ure for the return loop to the town.
