"Scumrock" informally coined by pUbLiC NuIsAnCe's JohnnyV, along with Todd from Knockout James and Al from Hammerbrain, was a term co opted to mean Socially Conscious Urban Music, but to those who know/knew, love/loved and play/played it, it was nothing of the sort. SCUMROCK was, and is, loud, irreverent and sloppy, with roots in Punk, Oi!, Streetpunk, Hardcore et cetera. There were a few Scumfests; rest assured I'll be looking for the others.
