Grand Rapids businessman Dick DeVos talks inside the Windquest Group in downtown Grand Rapids Tuesday, May 29, 2012. His father, Richard Marvin DeVos, the co-founder of Amway Corp. who became one of Grand Rapids' most generous benefactors, owner of the Orlando Magic basketball team and one of the world's wealthiest men, died Thursday. He was 92 when he died Sept. 6, 2018. Rich DeVos and his family played a key role in the redevelopment of Grand Rapids, especially its downtown. The DeVos family is regarded as one of the most prominent in West Michigan.
