Navy Quartermaster Jean-Baptiste Bernaz from France, was nominated for the CISM Athlete of the Year 2022 Award. He won the gold medal in the team event at the 53rd World Military Sailing Championship 2022 which took place in Brest, France.
He was also crowned 2022 Laser World Champion.
