Electrical drives in driveline construction offer plethora of bonuses when compared to traditional diesel-powered mechanical drivelines. The local emissions reduction, high zero-speed torque capabilities and higher efficiency over great operational range are all interesting aspects of machine construction, and offer both more environmentally friendly operation as well as reduction in operational costs.
Implementing these drivelines creates vast amount of new challenges, spanning from energy storage management to weight optimization.
Our presenter is Dr. Jarkko Nokka, Technical Project Manager at Mevea. He has done his academic research on the topic of using Digital Twins as an early-stage evaluation tool in dimensioning diesel-electric hybrid drivelines for heavy mobile machinery.
In this episode of Mevea Tech Talk, you will learn how prototyping new driveline concepts using physics-based Digital Twins gives a machine manufacturer a running start on the road to the successful release of the new generation of greener machines!
SUMMARY
• Understand how Digital Twins help in early-stage development of electrical and diesel-electric drivelines;
• Learn about rapid iteration without physical prototyping;
