In a day of fast-moving developments, Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari imposed President's Rule in the state, going back on his own 830 pm deadline that called upon the Shiv Sena to demonstrate it had support to rule. Congress leaders Ahmed Patel and Mallikarjun Kharge shared a dais with NCP stalwart Sharad Pawar and said they would bide their time before making the next move.
