Standing tall at 133 feet, the Thiruvalluvar Statue symbolizes the 133 chapters of the Thirukkural. The 38-foot pedestal represents Aram (virtue), while the 95-foot statue embodies Porul (governance and society) and Inbam (love). Located at the southernmost tip of India, where the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean converge, this monument stands as a powerful symbol of Tamil culture and timeless wisdom.
The Thiruvalluvar Statue celebrated its 25th anniversary in grand style with the unveiling of a mesmerizing laser show, inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.K. Stalin. This spectacular show narrates the story of Thiruvalluvar, the golden age of the Sangam era, and the evolution of Tamil literature. Through captivating projections, it brings Thiruvalluvar’s profound philosophy to life, immersing viewers in the wisdom that has shaped Tamil culture for over two millennia.
Adding to Kanniyakumari's allure, India's first-ever glass bridge over the sea was inaugurated, spanning 77 meters and connecting two iconic landmarks—the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Thiruvalluvar Statue. As part of the silver jubilee celebrations, the statue was officially declared the "Statue of Wisdom,"marking the occasion with grandeur.
