As the COVID-19 pandemic continues and we remain to observe lockdowns, we look for opportunities to hit pause and plan safe ways to enjoy the outdoors for our mental health and wellbeing. Nurture Wellness Village in Tagaytay City is one of the ideal rest and relaxation options where guests can feel safe while being treated to spa treatments and cool fresh mountain air.
Tagaytay City has always been a popular choice for quick getaways near Metro Manila, and there are a wide range of hotels and accommodations that can host tourists in any budget. Nurture Wellness Village is not your usual hotel and spa - it truly is a village that features different kinds of Filipino themed accommodations. We stayed at an Ifugao hut with wood interiors, and offers the convenience of its very own spa treatment area in the bottom floor of the hut.
The Wellness Nurture Village features spa treatments that will revive bodies like mine that have not felt the relief of a massage in close to two years. There are various kinds of massages and spa treatments, and I chose their signature treatment which is the Hilot Kagalingan, a traditional Filipino massage that uses coconut oil, banana leaves and other herbs to bring healing to the body. This establishment earns bonus points in my book for having massage facilities that are actually partially open to allow air to continuously circulate, the mountain air to cool visitors, and show alternative means to be eco-friendly by lessening air conditioning use.
Traveling during a pandemic has been complicated, risky, and truly a privilege for those who can, and the tourism industry is one of the sectors that have been heavily impacted in this crisis. When we can, there are establishments like Nurture Wellness Village that follow health and safety protocols that we can visit to support local tourism. All staff and therapists are regularly tested and masks stay on even during treatments. Guests below 18 years old and above 65 years old are also required to submit a negative RT-PCR test two days prior to booking.
When in Tagaytay, Nurture Wellness Village is a good stop for a relaxing weekend. Before your date with the Taal Volcano and your meal of hearty bulalo, there is a village that will help you unwind and bring you to an R&R mood. There is also a restaurant within the grounds that offers a selection of food for all your meals, and other activities other than spa treatments to enjoy - so many that they deserve their own videos!
Don't forget to be vigilant with mask wearing, hand washing, and social distancing each time you go out, stay healthy and safe!
