Yatai's are small street carts or mobile stalls that are set up at night and open until the late hours. They are very compact and every inch of the space is utilized so expect the seating to be crowded. But it's a fast way to make friends with strangers you are sharing the experience with. They are particularly famous in Fukuoka City and attract many tourist. The most famous site being in Nakasu but there is also a more local site in Tenjin. Though these Yatai's are not the best source of tonkotsu ramen, nor are they reasonable priced, but if you like to try the traditional night stall experience, then you can give these Yatai's a try.
