As of December 2012, over 15,000 South Carolina residents have been reported living with HIV or AIDS. Of that 15,000, 75% were African-American. Yet throughout minority communities the issue is only whispered about. Now Palmetto AIDS Life Support Services, better known as PALSS is striving to start the conversation through education, health, housing and human services and inspire a generation to protect themselves and their communities.
