B.Ed. Students demand mass promotions, feel deceived!
B.Ed. Students of Jammu University protested today and demanded mass promotion. While shouting “We want justice” they were seen with banners of “We want mass promotion”.
Many of them came together and shouted “We gave our online exams and completed our files though faced a lot of issues due to 2g network. It took 2-3 to download a single video. The controller of the exam clearly told us that internal exams assessment and the result of 1st semester will decide our 2nd semester result. Now they are talking about conducting our exams. What is this? Even Kashmir and Cluster University gave promotion to their students then why not us? We have even done our internships. Should we complete a 2 year degree in 4 years?”

The students according to them are going through a tough time. They have travelled to come here and fight for their right and still the Controller is not listening to them. They claimed that the Administration hurries up when it comes to fees but now when they are in need no one is turning up.
One of the students’ who is also a mother said “Our teachers really very ruthless. I was pregnant and gave birth to my baby boy just 11 days before my viva. I appeared for it but the teacher didn’t conduct my exam and afterwards I was declared fail. When I asked about it, the way she talked to me is beyond the words “rubbish” and “abuse”. The only things they care about are assignments, files and fees. They don’t even think what we all are going through; do we have problems in our house.”
Not only B.Ed. Students but B.E. students too feel deceived with the University’s behaviour. They put forward their thoughts by saying that “Jammu University’s syllabus and degree is no different than Cluster University and Kashmir University, then why discrimination? HRD Ministry guidelines have clearly stated that there will no exams for intermediates, so is Jammu University greater Indian Government that it’s not following any rules? Recently one MBBS student died due to corona. If our exams are conducted and someone catches corona, will they take the responsibility?”
