Abir El Abed from Tanger worked together with Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest (AAO) on the album 'Andalusian Echoes'. They connect the Arabo-Andalusia music to contemporary Maghreb.

Abir and AAO had a performance at the Turning East Festival in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam November 2017. Vrije Geluiden invited some artists from that festival to do a session in a small studio in Amsterdam North. Abir & AAO played 'Tifla Andalusia' (Salim Hilali) and 'Ala Wahida' (Sami El Maghribi).
