A quick explanation of what is IPS glow and how is it different from Backlight Bleed.

IPS glow is inherent to IPS panels and cannot be avoided.
Backlight Bleed is a defect and if it bothers you, you can return the monitor.
Macbook display doesn't have IPS glow, but I am not sure what kind of panel they use. Its definitely not OLED, but is it VA, TN or IPS, I don't know.
