We were anchored in the Gulf of Valinco, 15 miles south of Ajaccio, when the storm that devastated Western Corsica arrived. We did just in time to go and face the cluster offshore, holding as much as possible the wave to the bow with the help of the engine.
I did not look at the anemometer, but a nearby boat recorded gusts with a maximum of 88 knots.

Eravamo ancorati nel Golfo di Valinco, 15 miglia a sud di Ajaccio, quando è arrivata la tempesta che ha devastato la Corsica occidentale. Abbiamo fatto appena in tempo a salpare per affrontare il groppo al largo, tenendo il più possibile l'onda al mascone con l'aiuto del motore.
Non ho guardato l'anemometro, ma una barca vicina ha registrato raffiche con un massimo di 88 nodi.
