For day-to-day purposes I’ve switched to deodorants, unless it’s +30C and I’m going to be outside for more than an hour. Under those conditions I will absolutely use my spray antiperspirant. Here’s a quick summary of my thoughts. 3 out of 4 can be purchased at Sephora, the L’Occitane en Provance is exclusive to their shops.
1️⃣ DRUNK ELEPHANT Sweet Pitti Deodorant - terrible. No discussion. The packaging is annoying, the product doesn’t dry down, and most of the body products from Drunk Elephant smell like marzipan 🤢. Oh it has mandelic acid? That’s cool, but the product is unpleasant.
2️⃣ MALIN + GOETZ Bergamot Deodorant - 10/10. It’s the best premium alternative to what’s available in the drugstore. It’s a cool gel, that drys well and doesn’t stain black garments. It comes in several scents. Bergamot is my FAVOURITE! Even during the summer, (if you’re not too active or outside for too long) this gets the job done.
3️⃣ MAISON LOUIS MARIE No.04 Bois de Balincourt Deodorant - I like this one a lot because it smells like Marc Jacobs original mens fragrance or Diptyque Philosykos. It’s very dry, doesn’t stain garments, and the effect lasts all day. I was surprised how good this one is and I bought a spare one.
4️⃣ L’OCCITANE The Incredible Deodorant Recipe in Shea Butter - this also has unusual packaging BUT it does the job and it has a short ingredient list. I think this is the most sustainable/eco friendly.
