You may have noticed that there’s a new, simplified Fire Danger Ratings system. This means no matter where you are in Australia, the same system will be used.
The new ratings each have a simple action associated with them, helping you determine your risk day to day during fire season:
⚪ NO RATING: Fires can still happen but are not likely to be a risk to the community
🟢 MODERATE: Plan and prepare
🟡 HIGH: Prepare to act
🟠 EXTREME: Take action now to protect your life and property
🔴 CATASTROPHIC: For your survival, leave bushfire risk areas
Don’t forget to check Fire Danger Ratings daily over fire season. For more information on the new system, visit www.cfa.vic.gov.au/afdrs
