This video describes how to perform the Red Reflex Test (also increasingly known as the Fundal Reflex Test) using the Arclight low-cost ophthalmoscope. The Red (Fundal) Reflex Test can help identify congenital cataract and retinoblastoma in babies and young children. It should be performed on every newborn and again at six weeks of age. When infants attend immunisation clinics and neuro-developmental assessments it can be repeated to help prevent blindness and even death.
