Here's a range test done for Nerf's N-Strike Recon CS-6.

The shots were fired flat at shoulder level. I did one test with the barrel extension off and one with it on to see how it affected the ranges. The barrel did reduce the ranges (results below), but the trade off was increased consistency.

Results (no barrel):
Low: 22ft
Mid: 31ft
High: 36ft

Results (with barrel):
Low: 22ft
Mid: 28ft
High: 31ft
