A pair of Emperor Dragonflies Anax imperator landed on a reed whilst the photographer was watching and then remained attached for some minutes, battling against a stiff breeze. Shortly afterwards a female (probably the same one) was observed ovipositing on surface vegetation nearby and she can be seen probing for suitable laying-sites with her abdomen.
