In 2004, the Indonesian Parrot Project founded a rescue, rehabilitation and release center "Kembali Bebas" on Seram island with the focus on accepting confiscated parrots and cockatoos from the illegal trade and returning them to their wild endemic forest homes. This video explains how it is done. Please note the video starts with a scene of trapping parrots in the wild ... but it is a reality that we have to face. Also it includes our first release in March of 2006 and our most current release of Moluccan cockatoos in October of 2015.
