Video Transcript:
'On a small pond at Pensthorpe Natural Park, I found an ordinary duck that on land, could have been a normal mallard.
Once in the water though, it became transformed.
The incredible bill of the Shoveler Duck is perfectly adapted to sieve through the water in search of food.
This particular male however has something else on his mind and it doesn't take him long to find a potential mate.
When a riva shoveler shows up it seems like trouble is brewing. But instead of fighting, the two start displaying, showing off their strength to one another. And when the female joins in, the argument is settled.
Despite peaceful appearances, the stunning male shoveler must stay vigilant each day to protect his new mate. This will continue through the spring until this year's chicks have hatched.'
